Governance Framework
I. Structure of the Honorary Family Council
The Honorary Family Council shall consist of exactly 10 seats.
The initial Founding Council is formed by direct invitation from the platform founders. Their term is 1 year.
All subsequent Council members are elected to a 3-year term.
A representative may be re-elected up to three consecutive terms (excluding the initial founding year).
Upon completing three consecutive terms, the representative receives the elevated honorary status of Council Steward (see Section IV).
II. Voting Rights and Family Representation
Each confirmed family on the platform with an active membership shall designate one official representative as the Head of Family Account.
Only the Head of Family Account has voting rights on behalf of the entire family.
All voting is conducted digitally and anonymously.
In Council elections, each eligible family may vote for up to three candidates.
The 10 candidates receiving the highest number of votes shall be seated.
III. Admission of New Families to the Platform
Any existing member family may nominate up to 3 candidate families per calendar year.
Each sitting Council member may nominate up to 10 candidate families per calendar year as a mark of distinction.
Nominees are reviewed and voted on by the Honorary Council.
A minimum of 7 out of 10 votes is required for approval.
In case of a tie or insufficient support, the candidate is declined and may reapply for consideration after one year.
IV. Council Stewardship (Lifetime Executive Role)
Any family representative who has served three consecutive elected terms becomes a Council Steward.
Council Stewards:
Retain a permanent elevated status within the governance system.
Receive two votes on all matters put before the Council.
Do not occupy one of the 10 active seats, but retain full voting privileges equivalent to two sitting members.
May appoint a successor to serve on the Council for one full term without election, immediately following their transition to Steward.
May participate in all discussions, propose policy, and lead strategic committees.
Hold ceremonial, strategic, and institutional influence.
Have the right to veto amendments to the Council Charter.
V. Impeachment Procedure
Any sitting Council member may initiate a motion to remove another member for misconduct, negligence, or violation of values.
A motion of impeachment requires 7 out of 10 votes in favor.
If passed, the member is immediately removed and barred from standing in the next electoral cycle.
VI. Political Alliances: Clans
Member families may form Clans — recognized political alliances within the platform.
Clans do not grant additional votes but:
May coordinate election campaigns and candidate lists.
May publicly identify affiliated families as part of their block.
Require approval by the Honorary Council for formal recognition.
VII. Special Council Privileges and Responsibilities
The Council upholds the ethical and editorial standards of the platform.
Approves the format, integrity, and credibility of family archives.
May propose and award the Legacy Honor annually for exceptional contributions to heritage, culture, or intergenerational leadership.
Reviews internal disputes and legacy integrity cases.
Appoints ad-hoc working groups when needed.
VIII. Voting Schedule and Administration
Elections for the Council occur every three years, coordinated by the platform’s core team.
The Council shall meet digitally at least twice per year for general governance matters.
Emergency votes (e.g., for impeachment or critical approvals) may be called with 48 hours’ notice.
IX. Founding Principles
Legacy must be curated, not crowdsourced.
Power must be limited, but real.
Participation must be earned, not bought.
Greatness is not inherited — it is maintained through continuity, discretion, and clarity.
